Capt Pro Challenge 2016
The dates for this seasons challenge matches have just been released. Captain John Tuttle and I would like to invite you to challenge us to a fourball betterball match. For those of you who are unaware we are pleased to play all combinations be it male, female or even mixed pairs. This is a great way maybe for any of the new members who have just joined the club to get to know us, don't be shy we would be delighted to receive your challenge. The match is over 18 holes and you will receive ¾ handicap allowance. The pair that beat us by the highest margin over the season are the winners. This year all match fees will go towards the Captains Charities.
If you think you have the game or even if you don't these matches are always great fun.

Below you will see that even within the Pro Shop team we have very different figures in the important swing sections, see below. By taking 3 swings on the analyser 4 data points are raised.
1 Swing speed which is self-explanatory .
2 Tempo the transition from back to down swing.
3 Shaft kick angle the forward bend in the downswing of the shaft.
4 Release factor, how the clubhead releases in the downswing.
With the information gathered 3 shafts and 3 head designs will be suggested in their efficiency order.

Just a reminder that we are hosting a FootJoy Shoe Fitting Event on Monday 7th March. The FootJoy agent will be here from 10.30am -3.30pm and is allocating 15 minute appointments for each member. The first 2 hours are now booked and we are now taking bookings from 12.30 onwards, so if you would like to take advantage of this special event please get in touch. FootJoy will bring with them their full range of shoes with a full range of width fittings.
Fitness coach for Golf!
Golf exercises are not just for those young gym bunnies or tour Pro's like Tiger and Rory but can benefit everyone. We are teaming up and are presently in meetings with a qualified fitness instructor who will be able to deliver a golf specific exercises relevant to your abilities. The older I get it strikes me how important it is to maintain a level of strength and flexibility to play golf to your potential. We are looking to be in a position to provide this service by the end of March. Details to follow.

Shamrock and Roses Social Evening
Message from Captains John and Lynn,
This year we have combined the celebrations for St Patrick's and St George's Day into a new Roses and Shamrocks night to be held on Saturday 2nd April. We hope that this will prove to be a relaxed evening with Folk, Rock and Irish music from Mick's Kitchen. Dress is casual and the more adventurous might choose to enter into the Anglo-Irish spirit by wearing something typically English or Irish. Click here to view a copy of the menu.
Tickets are just £20 and available from the office. We very much hope that you will join us to help make this a fun evening, just as enjoyable and successful as Burn's Night. After all we cannot have the Scots entirely lead the way!
News from across the water!
Members Sarah and James Greenall are just finishing off their pre-season training at the Desert Springs complex in Spain. Whilst away Sarah has had her 5th hole in one. To mark the achievement Sarah was presented with a certificate by Desert Spring's Golf Director Kirk Lovell and celebrated with a glass of bubbly.
