What is Club Gapping 

Custom fitting doesn't have to be only when you're thinking of buying new clubs. From my own experience I find a large amount of golfers carry two if not three of the longer clubs that do the same job. I am seeing a trend in club fitting with iron sets from 6-SW then two hybrid clubs taking the place of long irons, a 5 wood and then a driver. That's just 10 clubs. Certainly in the higher handicap range I'm seeing less and less need for 4 & 5 irons which are replaced with these hybrid clubs that are more forgiving, launch the ball higher resulting in improved carry distances. However to know which clubs to choose what is important is to know how far you can hit them. Paul Smith booked a driver fitting this week to work on his tee shot, a challenging area of his game. FootJoy Shoe Fitting Day

James from FootJoy came on Monday and fitted 20 members for their correct size and style in the FootJoy range. 

It was such a success and so much interest that I'm already trying to get another fitting session booked for later in the year.
