The European Football Championships - 20% OFF Clothing! 

In case you haven't noticed the football starts this week in France. The European Championships begins with England and Wales scheduled to play on Saturday and Northern Ireland on Sunday. We have decided to run a footy promotion and will be offering 20% OFF all Under Armour clothing for the men and 20% OFF Daily Sport clothing for the ladies. If the promotion is activated it will run until close of business on Wednesday 15th June. 

There is a BUT though! For the promotion to kick in it will require one of the following players to score a goal for their respective countries: Jamie Vardy or Harry Kane for England, Gareth Bale for Wales or Kyle Lafferty for Northern Ireland. 

So keep an eye open for all our teams and let's get behind them and give our support.

   

 

Captain's Day 

Once again Captains Day is upon us with the entry sheet very nearly full up all in support of John Tuttle on his big day. The Captains weekend kicks off in customary fashion with the Captain's Summer Ball on Friday 1st July which is always a chance for everyone to dress to impress (Black tie preferred). Always the highlight of the social year at The Links, this year's entertainment will be supplied by East Anglia's premier 60's band 'The 6T's'. The golf course on the Sunday, Captain's Day, will be open for play for members who have entered the tournament and the first competitors will be teeing off from 5am. If you would like to get involved in the celebrations then please contact the office for further details.

Charity Day 

The figure of £10,000 has just released as sum raised on our Club Charity Day back on the 21st May. A big thank you to all who helped make it such a successful day for all the chosen charities, it must be very close to a record amount.

 

Slow Play 

Sorry to keep banging on about the pace of play on the course during busy times at the club. Slow play detracts from everyone's enjoyment of the game, but it can only be solved or improved if everyone works together. 

1: Respect fellow golfers. 
2: Hit a provisional if you think yours maybe lost. 
3: Be ready to play when it is your turn. 
4: Be aware not just where your ball has gone but also your playing partners. 
5: If you are looking for a ball then call through the group behind as soon as possible. 
By working together we will all enjoy our golf more.
