Captains Day and Summer Ball
Our Captains Week was kicked off in customary fashion on Friday by the Summer Ball. With the marquee in place next to the clubhouse and splendidly decked out for the occasion, a fun night ensued. A special mention and thank you to Anthea Davidson and Carol Bangs for all their wonderful flower displays on the tables and around the clubhouse. Over 120 members and guests enjoyed a lovely meal from Dennis and his team before the Men's and Ladies Captains lead the dancing off in a most unusual way.

A great night was had by all.
Captains Day itself- Congratulations to the John Tuttle, our Men's Captain, on an extremely well run Captains Day on Sunday. With the full force of the Tuttle household behind him, Marcella and daughters Laura and Claire, the day ran like clockwork, complete with the weather.
John was at the club at 4.30 am making the final preparations for the long day ahead and a field of over 150 members enjoyed his Captain's day competition and hospitality.
The Winners
Handicaps 0-9 Steve Finney 39pts ----- H'cap 10-18 Ricky Granville 41 pts ---- H'caps 19-28 Wilf Wakefield 42pts.
Well done John on a great day that will live long in the memory, and one that you will hopefully look back on with great fondness and enjoyment.
25 Years Service Award
Those of you that were at the Captain's Day Presentations on Sunday would have seen that I was presented with my 25 years' service award by club Chairman Peter Bush. I was extremely touched by the clubs very kind gesture in marking my years at the club and on such a special day. As I mentioned in my speech I would like to thank the members for their support over the years, which has allowed me to put in place what I consider to be the best Pro Shop team in golf.
Thank you to: Richard, Jonny and Linda for all your hard work and support , that helps make my job easier. Thank you.
Ladies Captains Day
Lynn Lambert, our Ladies Captain, welcomed 81 of our lady members to the 1st tee in her normal inimitable fashion on Tuesday for her Ladies Captains' Day.
There was no doubt the day would be a real fun occasion and so it proved to be.
Well done Lynn on a great day.

If you would like to take part in what promises to be a great fun event and at the same time help raise funds for this very worthy cause, it is not too late. This is a final reminder that the Great Links Fun Run is upon us, this Sunday 10th July.
This event has been arranged to raise funds for Addenbrookes Breast Cancer Appeal. Everyone is welcome and walking the route is most definitely allowed depending on your levels of fitness. You are required to fill in an entry form which is available from office, bar or Pro shop with an entry fee of £5 payable to the Secretary, Bar or Pro Shop to take part.
We need your support for this very worthy cause.
