The Links are Scratch team champions for 2016!
The Mens Scratch League Team won 4-2 away at March GC last week to clinch the CAGU Div B league title.
It has been a great first season in charge for Captain Ed Dimambro and he would like to thank all his team mates Matt Hartley, David Marris, Mark Bloxham, Alex Day, Toby Crisp, Lee Allen, Jason Evans and Paul Sharplin for supporting him and representing the Links this year.
Special mentions for Matt Hartley, being the highest point scorer in the season and Jason Evans who has a very impressive 100% win record when able to play.
Now they look forward to a Goddard Cup semi-final against Saffron Walden which is to be played on Sunday 14th August at the Links. Well done Captain Ed and your Boys!

In the handicap section Sarah Reardon had two very consistent rounds of nett 70+70 = 140 winning the 36-hole Paula Ewing trophy. Lynn Lambert, Ladies Captain, was runner-up on 72+71 = 143.
Lesley Ellis won the Bronze Robin Trophy for the best gross score over 36-holes for the 21+ handicappers. Whilst the Seniors' Championship was won by Margaret Beckley with a gross 87. Also Lesley Duncan-Edge won the vase for the best nett score in the Seniors' championship with a nett 75. A special mention for Jane Clark who has only been a member of the club for 2 months. Jane has only just started golf and was playing in only her second competition and came in with a magnificent nett score of 75+70 = 145 to take the special prize for the 27-36 handicappers.
These days don't just happen so a very special thanks to Barbara Coe and Edie Douglas for organising the day so well. Well done to everyone for taking part in what is one of our major events in the golfing calendar.
Flying Ollie!
One of our greenkeepers, Ollie Kirk had an experience never to forget last weekend when he leapt out of an aircraft for a bit of skydiving.
Rather you than me Ollie but what a great action shot and picture.
Well done.
The Foremost Assistants Pro Championships
Jonny played in the Foremost Assistant Pro's Championships supported by Srixon Golf at Nottingham G C last week. He shot a 3 over par 75 to finish in the top 30 from a field of 120 players. The incentive was a Srixon club, ball and glove playing contract for the year for finishing in the top 10. The event was superbly run and a big thank you must go to Srixon for their great support for this grass roots golf event.
