Links Members Improving Their Putting
On Tuesday this week at the club, James Jankowski and Jonny with the aid of the Quintec Ball Roll system improved the understanding and technique of a number of members in the mystic art of putting. This high tech system allows putting coaches and custom fitters an analysis tool to give golfers actual information so they need never be uncertain of the their performance or their putters again.
The Quintic Ball Roll software tracks the ball for the first 12 inches of the putt. It then instantly and clearly shows the ball speed, sidespin, angular rotation, vertical bounce, launch angle and point at which true roll occurs. Putter manufacturers use this technology to test new models all the time and crucially golf pro's are now using the information gained to make real progress in this area.
We have already set up a follow up date for the next session by popular demand for Tuesday, 7 March, and due to the interest there are only 2 places still available.

MOT and FREE GolfPride Grip Offer Continues
Alistair Davidson took advantage of our MOT and grip offer last week and was amazed at how much his golf improved.
Alistair popped into the shop after a trip to the range to inform us how much better his ball striking was and that he played better this week than he had for quite some time.
In fact he was so confident he even asked us to put a new grip on his 3 iron.
Good work Alistair.
Ladies First Match Of The Season
The sun shined on the ladies for their first match of the season last week against Royal Worlington at The Links. The course had recovered amazingly from storm Doris which battered the course the day before! Many thanks to Di Mc, Maureen H, Wendy C, Jane B, Susie G, Pauline B and Avril M for playing. I'm informed also that in the Ladies Captains match, Marcella and Di after a flukey 80ft putt holed against them on the last had to settle for a halved match. Jane B & Susie gave their opponents a major thrashing winning 7/6.
Unfortunately with the other matches not going our way we lost the match 1½ - 2½. There were some funny moments though. Matt informed the ladies that in the olden days we used to get the best bone china out for the Royal Worlington match and when the ladies were looking at our pictures upstairs they were very impressed that the Queen had come to visit us, especially when they looked at the picture of Marcella shaking the Queen's hand at Lynn Lamberts Ladies' Captains Day last year! They couldn't believe it was a cardboard cut-out!
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and Andy provided us with lovely sandwiches and cakes.
St Patricks Day bash at The Links! Calling all leprechauns!
Calling all leprechauns. The craic will be mighty at The Links clubhouse on the night of Friday, 17th March. Come and join in the fun. We have a great ceilidh band, Stumpy Oak, who promise to get us all light-footed and jigging through the night. The more adventurous can express their Irish roots by wearing something green. No blarney, we promise it will be a night of Celtic dreams.
Look out also for the 10-hole St Patrick's Mixed Texas Scramble? An experience that will surpass Wogan's famous gruesomes! Throw your name in the hat and see who you get drawn with. To be sure, to be sure you have four chances to sink that winning putt for prizes galore. If your Irish luck is in you might even win a little pot of gold.
Contact the office to book a table for the ceilidh or we can make up a table for you - cost £26 per person. The sign-up sheet for the Texas Scramble is in the hallway - entry £2 per person - the draw will take place on 10th March.
