Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
Please spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey, which gives you the chance to have your say on the proposed changes.
We've picked out some of the most significant Rules changes for you to digest in this survey, before giving you the chance to say whether you agree or disagree with each of them. It'll be great to know your thoughts.

Sarah Holes In One!
On Thursday this week Sarah Reardon recorded her first ace whilst playing in the Ladies & NAGS Greensomes event. Standing on the 17th tee and facing a stiff breeze, Sarah chose her driver to knock the ball into the cup.
Neither Sarah or her playing partners had seen the ball go in so when they arrived at the green they looked everywhere other than the hole before eventually finding it nestling at the bottom of the cup.
Well played Sarah.
Ladies & NAGS Greensomes
The sun shone on Thursday for the Ladies & NAGS Greensomes event. The day started early at 8am with a full English breakfast in the clubhouse which was enjoyed by all. This is a mixed competition where the ladies are paired up with a NAG and play an 18-hole greensomes stableford.
The winners were the two Captains! Fix!!! Marcella Tuttle and Harry Jeffreys with 39 points. In second place with 38 pts was Jude Hole and Peter Beckley. This was only a warm up though as the REAL match against the NAGs is in October, where the ladies will be defending the trophy after their win last year.
Many thanks to all for supporting the event and making it such an enjoyable day, also thanks also to Mike Beetham, NAGS Secretary who organised the event and even produced a table plan for breakfast!
Pro Shop Team On Training Day
Richard, Jonny and myself attended a workshop run by Foremost Golf at Staverton Park GC near Daventry this week. It's always good to get away with the team for these training days and we always come back full of new ideas that help improve our services in the Pro Shop.
It's also useful to chat and network with fellow golf pro's from all over the country on issues that are affecting the golf industry.
Pro Shop Alterations & New Stock
This is my first attempt at video content for the newsletter but I'm hoping it will become a regular feature each week. The Team will be looking to produce more clips in the future including reviews on clubs, coaching tips and possibly footage of events taking place at the club during that week.

Keep an eye out, you may even be starring in one at some stage. I'm expecting a bit of stick for this one but hopefully with a little practise the videos will improve. It has shown me how professional and polished some of the TV presenters really are though.
