Course Maintenance
You may have seen Rob and his team carrying out course maintenance to the greens this week. There was a combination of micro hollow tining and solid tining. Maintenance work is carried out every Spring and Autumn, which is essential to keep the greens putting well all year round.

St. Patrick's Texas Scramble Competition & Dance
St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in style. The afternoon saw a mixed 10-hole Texas scramble played in an assortment of pseudo Irish outfits. Every dress code rule was broken as the players braced a bitterly cold windy afternoon reminiscent of the auld Emerald Isle.
The clubhouse was full of Irish music and merriment. Many thanks to David Hole for starting everyone and dishing out the baileys and whisky and to Laura Tuttle for the lovely cakes afterwards.
The evening proved to be a lively affair, a festival of swirling green, as the members danced to the fiddle of Stumpy Oak fuelled by good cheer, Guinness and the other Irish favourites whiskey and baileys. Strange how the prospect of a good night brings out claims of Irish heritage - a phenomenon that even the Presidents of America succumb to!
The craic was indeed mighty! Many thanks to everyone for making the whole day so special.
The Winners were as follows:
1st - Carolyn Bolton, Mike Wood, Pauline Bond and Malcolm Bird - Nett 35
2nd - Dick Douglas, Mary Walsh, Clive Pollington and Margaret Beckley - Nett 35.2
3rd - Marcella Tuttle, Gerry Bangs, Brian Allen and Avril Matthews - Nett 35.4
Nearest the pin on the 9th (ladies) - Ann Jessett

Club Matches
Well done to Men's Captain, Kevin and his team on a 5-1 win in the annual match v Mill Hill. The match began in 1956 when a member of Mill Hill used to land his aeroplane on the gallops by the clubhouse, have a round of golf and lunch, and then off to the races.
Good luck to Match Captain, Tom Sharp and his team in CAGU Inter Club League match v Gog Magog on Saturday. This is their first match in this new league designed for handicap golfers. The format is four pairs of greensomes.
