Gerry Holes In One
During the match between The CADS and Mundesley GC last Wednesday, member Gerry Johnstone achieved a lifetime ambition when he aced the 9th hole. Using his hybrid, Gerry struck his perfect shot and then watched his ball land on the front of the green and roll up the tier to a back right pin position and drop into the cup.
It was Gerry's first hole in one which also proved his most expensive shot as it came with a £160 bar bill as both teams helped him celebrate afterwards in the clubhouse.

David Holes Out For His First Ace!
Well done and congratulations to David Walsh who this week holed out whilst playing the 12th hole. Playing with his wife Mary, he hit a 7 iron straight in to the cup on his way to his best ever round, a gross 75

Junior Team Kick Off Their 2017 League Campaign
The juniors started off their league title charge last weekend away to the reigning champions St Neots. All the boy's matches were down at the half way point, but strong back nines from Tyler Weaver, Dan Knight and Teddy Hall got the juniors two wins and a half.
Tyler nearly clinched a win in his game on the last hole which would have squared the match overall. However, the juniors fell short and lost to a strong St Neots team by 3.5 - 2.5 overall. But once again they did the club proud and showed the fighting spirit and the high level of golf they all are capable of. The next game will be at home to Thorpe Wood on the 6th May where the team are hungry to get their first win of the season, good luck for the season guys!
Lynx Golf Demo Day - Thursday 1st June
Lynx Golf Company have been making huge strides recently in the golf market with the launch of several new models. This week we had a visit from their sales team, who have brought to our attention the quality and performance of their new equipment.
Richard and I spent last Saturday afternoon testing some of the new kit from Lynx on the launch monitor. We have to say we found that it definitely performs, and competes against some of the more expensive products that we stock.
The drivers, with adjustable loft and weight systems are priced from £139!
We have a demo day booked for the 1st June and are taking bookings for that but if you don't want to wait until then get in touch with the team.
Mizuno Demo Day
Another date for your diary is Tuesday 20th June when we have the Mizuno tech agent coming to the club.
We will have 8 appointments available so if you would like to come along please get in touch and book your spot.
Charity Day - Message from Kevin and Marcella, Men's and Ladies' Captains
It is Charity Day at The Links Golf Club on Saturday 13th May. This is always a great day for the Club and a big fund raising event for the Captains' chosen charities. This year we are supporting:
- Prostate Cancer UK
- The Pancreatic Research Fund
There are many ways you can support this event:
Members Competition - Pairs Four-Ball Better Ball Stableford, teeing off 7.00am.
A notice is prominently displayed in the foyer of the clubhouse to which you can add your name(s) should you wish to enter.
Team Competition - best two scores from four per hole teeing off from 11.00am.
Open to players from away clubs or in combination with members. This competition includes an evening meal. Cost is £150 per team. Contact Matt if you are interested in bringing a team to play. Closing date for team entries 4th May.
Your chance to win a car worth £15k for a hole-in-one on the 3rd hole!
This year we will have a car on offer for any hole in one on the 3rd. In addition, prizes will be awarded for the member and visitor competitions, together with many additional prizes for nearest the pins and longest drives. A bar and a barbeque will be open all day at the cabin on the 11th tee, together with the usual clubhouse services. The Professional's shop will be running various challenges.
Hole Sponsorship - Perhaps your company would like to sponsor a hole at a cost of £150. In return your sponsorship can be acknowledged by displaying a corporate message or logo near the Tee or to the rear of the Green for the period 8th - 14th May inclusive.
Several hundred people are likely to see this sign through the course of the week. We can help should you need to create a sign.
Auction and Tombola Prizes - Should you wish to donate a significant prize for our Charity Auction or a small gift for our Tombola table, please drop them into the Secretary's Office.

Club Fitting Follow Up
We are in the process of getting in contact with members who bought golf clubs from us last year. This is a follow up service that we have introduced to make sure are customers are still happy with their equipment and the clubs are still performing.
We will be inviting our customers back for this FREE appointment and offering discounts on any regrips or repairs that maybe required. So if you haven't heard from us already then you will be shortly.
