TPC Sawgrass
I have been looking forward to this event since January this year when I had the pleasure of visiting Sawgrass. For me it was a once in a lifetime experience as it carries a $375 green fee, so you can understand why.
I didn't manage to break 80 around the TPC course and we didn't play from the back tees, so with my memories of how I played the course it will be interesting to see how the world's best plot their way round.
The famous 17th hole at just 137yards. I was amazed how small the green was. The formidable tee shot at waiting for you at 18 with the magnificent clubhouse in the background.
Ladies Win Against St Neots
Well done to the Grace Norman team who beat St Neots today 2-1 at home. The Grace Norman is an inter-club knockout foursomes tournament run by CHCLGA.
Our foursomes pairings were Marcella & Sarah G, Teresa & Jude and Jane M & Karen. The sun shone at last and the jumpers came off! Our next match will be against either Old Nene or St Ives and we're playing at home again. Guy Westcott Hole in One
You might remember Guy won £500 a couple of weeks ago with a hole in one whilst playing in the medal. He decided to mark his achievement by treating himself to a new electric cart and matching bag. Well played again Guy.
Midweek Charity Day
Charity Week at the club started off well with our Midweek Charity Day on Tuesday. We had 60 members from across the membership taking part in a 10-hole 3-ball Texas Scramble event. The winners of both the fun and golf events were as follows:

Many thanks to all the helpers particularly Lavinia Ryan, Sue Nicholas, Margaret Lister, Joyce Watson, Davie Tyers, Sarah Greenall, Jayne Sant-Brown, Jonny Sharkey and Richard Childerley.
Overall the sum taken minus expenses was c. £764 so thank you very much to all those who supported the day. We're looking forward to raising more money for our charities, Prostate Cancer UK and the Pancreatic Research Fund (PCRF) this coming Saturday on Charity Day.
