Jane and Karen at the PING Plate Jane Monk and Karen Cook won through to represent the club and play in the national finals of the PING 4BBB Plate played last Monday. This very prestigious championship is open to pairs of women golfers who first play a qualifying round of betterball stableford at their home club. The 50 pairs with the best scores in England qualify for the Grand Final played at PING's own golf course at Gainsborough in Lincolnshire.
Jane and Karen not only did well to qualify for the event but also finished in 2nd place overall in the final itself from 50 other pairs, a magnificent achievement. They scored 43 points on the day but were pipped by the eventual winners from West Hill GC, Surrey who had 45 points.
The girls obviously have had a week to remember but a sign of things to come was when Jane had a hole in one during their practise round the day before. Well done Jane.
First place, Thomas /Aitken West Hill GC (45 points)
Second place, Monk/Cook Links GC (43 points)
Third place, Faldon/Watson BrokeHill GC (40 points)
