Jonny gains his Quintic Putter coaching accreditation

Congratulations to Jonny on achieving his Quintic Ball Roll Certified Instructor Accreditation this week. This has placed Jonny as one of the leading putting coaches in the region and is also recognition of the quality of coaching that is now available at Newmarket.

Putting has just got serious in The Golf Lab

This season we have added to our putter fit and coaching services and will be offering our largest ever selection of putters for you to try and get fitted for. Included in this seasons selection is the new range of Stroke Lab putters from Odyssey the number 1 putter of choice on the European Tour, the PING Sigma 2 range with adjustable shaft length for the perfect fit and the Evnroll range with face technology to eliminate miss hits.

After a fitting in the Lab we will make sure you find the perfect putter to fit your physique and stroke type and a plan to develop your understanding of the pathway to holing more putts. Plus also watch out for our guest Scotty Cameron special fitting event in the spring.

Captain George has a hole in one

Our junior captain George O’Shea hit that perfect shot at the par 3 17th hole last Friday.

George holed out covering the 200 yards using just a 5 iron and achieving his first hole in one.

Can it really be a year ago?

With the temperatures reaching 20c in some parts I couldn’t resist in sharing this video with you taken on the first tee this time last year, to the day.

The course has been in fabulous condition and has been a real treat to play over the winter months plus due to the lack of snow orange balls are at half price in our SALE!

Pro Shop Golf Tours

The latest Childerley’s Tour is all set for take-off on the 21st March with a trip to Portugal and will see the group playing at some of the finest courses on the Algarve.

Spring/summer stock arriving daily – SALE ends this weekend

The weather this week has added to the excitement of the season ahead and with the arrival of our new stock the shop is beginning to take shape.

The SALE will end this weekend with some final reductions and there are some genuine bargains to be had on shoes, golf bags and clubs!

75 yards? Up-and-down for me...

The majority of golfers know how far they hit their driver and irons with a full swing, but wedges require you to be a lot more accurate if you want to start shooting better scores. So, whilst it can be useful to know how far a full PW or LW goes, you'll benefit far more from dialling in your wedges so you can hit specific distances that you regularly find yourself with on the course.

Give yourself options

You'll notice that different swings with each wedge will result in yardages that overlap - see table above. This is important as it'll give you options when considering the conditions. For example, if you're facing a strong breeze, we'd suggest going up a club and utilising a shorter swing so the ball flies lower with less spin, helping it to penetrate through the wind.

Dial in with Lynx

We'd recommend having a wedge system of the same brand and model, so you remove any variables in feel and spin across wedges.

Be honest...
