Happy New Year
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year and plenty of time for golf at the Links. With the good weather over the festive season the course was busy with lots going on.
The Captains Drive, on New Year's Day is always a highlight at the club and the incoming Captains didn't disappoint with four of the best struck tee shots I have witnessed over the years. Well done to Ray Bolton, Dianne McDonnell, Ian Griffiths and Jordy Allen , I hope you all have a enjoyable year.
Also a big thank you to the outgoing Captains David Smith, Lesley Duncan Edge, Peter Ridgeon and David Marris for all your hard word in 2014, I hope you all look back on your year of Captaincy with lots of fond memories.

Club versus CADS match
The Club hosted the annual match versus the CADS over the Christmas period with the club winning by a convincing 6 ½ - 1 ½ margin. As it was a frosty morning the game was played on temporary greens but this didn't diminish the fact that both teams had a lovely days golf and the match, as always, was played in a terrific spirit.

Make 2015 the year you improve your golf game
The baubles have barely been removed from the tree yet we're willing to bet you're already thinking about how you can up your game in 2015.
You're probably contemplating a few lessons to get your swing in check and maybe even thinking about upgrading your driver to give you that bit more distance off the tee. But before you do the latter, pause.
Because it is going to take more than picking the most expensive club you can off the shelf to add some valuable extra yards to your tee shot.
There's a reason the very best golfers opt only for equipment that has been fitted especially for them - because there really is no alternative to a set of clubs made to your own specification.
And with swing studios becoming increasingly widespread offering software that can break down every element of your technique, custom fitting has never been more accessible.
