The Ultimate Club Fitting Experience
This week accompanied by member John Yuill I paid a visit to PING's national fitting centre at Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. As always there is lots to see and take in. Once again I was impressed with how PING looked after us. I have been looking to change my irons for some time having felt that as I get older I wasn't getting the best out of my existing clubs. I have been fitted for a set of PING i25 irons which have shafts that are longer and lighter and immediately I was able to see a difference in the distances I was achieving over my old clubs.
The fitting centre is situated at Gainsborough Golf Club and although we didn't play the course this time it makes a good day out. I shall be booking another day in May so if you are considering changing your irons or woods why not join me for the ultimate fitting day followed by a spot of lunch and a game of golf on PING's own golf course. Society of Cambridgeshire Area Golf Captains (SCAGC)
The Links GC had the honour of hosting an event that helped to mark the 50th anniversary of the SCAGC last Thursday. To become a member of the society you have had to have been a captain of an affiliated golf club in the county. This year the Captain of the society is Links past Captain Malcolm Coe who invited Richard to play on the day and myself to join him and over 200 past captains and guests to a dinner at Queens college in Cambridge in the evening. I have to congratulate all involved on the organisation of the day and a special thank you to Malcolm and David Orwell, secretary of the society, for inviting both Richard and I to join them on this great occasion.
