Ladies Spring Event
Next Tuesday the Club will be staging our Ladies Spring Event, we will be hosting around 120 lady golfers from around the region. To mark this special day the Pro Shop will be offering 10% discount on all ladies clothing, we are also running a FREE to enter draw and there are also nearest the pin prizes on all the par 3's.
The discounts on the ladies clothing will be open to all members, so even if you are not involved or playing on the day please come along and join in the fun. The competition is played in the afternoon and the course will be closed from 11.30am. Let's hope the nice weather continues and an enjoyable day is had by all.
Capt/Pro Challenge matches
The Captain/Pro challenge matches continued this week when Basil Warren and John Quigley, both past Captains laid down the challenge. These matches are a lot of fun and give me the opportunity to get out and play with the members in a fun and competitive way. I haven't played with Basil or John since they were Captains back in 2004 & 2005 respectively. We still have one date available in the Spring Series for Saturday 9th May, so why not get yourself a partner and give us game.
Men's Invitation Day - Friday 1st May
Don't miss this really great opportunity to invite a guest along to your club for an enjoyable day. You could invite a relative, friend or even a business colleague. The day will give you a chance to spend some valuable time together having fun and playing on our great golf course. The day starts at 11.30am with coffee on arrival, tee off from 12 mid-day onwards and then followed by dinner in the clubhouse afterwards. There is a competition on the day (4 ball better ball stableford) and there are prizes available but the day is all about you and your guest having a great time. The cost for all this is just £38 per pair, you will have to hurry though as the closing date is Wednesday 22nd April.
PGA East Region Competitions
Richard and I have been out travelling the East Region this week playing in qualifying events for the major professional competitions on the ER schedule this year. Although I haven't troubled the qualifiers too much Richard had some success at Rayleigh GC near Southend with a fine level par round on Monday guaranteeing him a start in the East Region Championships at Bishops Stortford. We have another two qualifiers lined up for this Friday and again on Monday. I will give you an update on our progress in next week's mail.
Lithium Trade In
We are running a promotion allowing you to trade up to a new liteweight lithium battery. Is your old battery beginning to let you down, why not trade it in with us and we will give you £25 OFF a new Motocaddy lithium battery.
Initially the lithium battery is a bit more expensive but it will save you money in the long term. The charging time is much quicker than a standard battery, they are smaller ,lighter and come with longer warranties. Come in and ask for a demo,we have a lithium battery powered hire cart for you to try.
