Dear golfers,
Earlier this afternoon you will have received my weekly newsletter. Sadly due to a slight technical issue I was unable to include images from the 72 hole challenge and my trip to Northamptonshire Country Golf Club.
I am pleased to now be able to show these images.
72 Hole Challenge at The Links! - Congratulations to John Blake, John Henry and Gary Chapman on completing their one day 72 hole golf challenge on Tuesday this week. In aid of the Macmillan Cancer Trust and Niamh Henry's Fairy Wish Fund, they raised over £2000.
Teeing off just after 5am the trio's golf improved as the day progressed with their best golf reserved for their last round. I was able to catch them at the end of their day for a picture, and although moving rather gingerly looked in good spirits after a job well done.
Pictured - John Henry, John Blake and Gary Chapman.
East Region Captain Pro Challenge - I was out and about this week at Northamptonshire County GC for a practise round for the PGA East Region Captain Pro challenge tournament. Ray Bolton, John Tuttle and I took time out for a reconnaissance mission ahead of the event scheduled for August that will have Captain Pro pairings from nearly 70 clubs from all over the region competing. For those of you that haven't played Northamptonshire it is a hidden gem. A traditional 18 hole members course that has been used in the past as a regional qualifying course for the The Open Championships. A fantastic lay out and tough examination with a par of 70 but with a standard scratch of 73, well worth a visit.
Pictured - Ray playing from at greenside bunker at the 18th just in front of the clubhouse.
